What’s all the fuss?

You may well ask…why internet marketing and what does it mean to me?

I am sure there are tons of other people out there asking about the importance of internet marketing and how it can enrich their lives.

If like me you have spent a lot of time researching internet marketing, attending seminars and workshops and signing up for lots of stuff, as well as all the good quality downloads….then you too are probably asking about how to put it all to work.

This blog is designed for people like you and for us all to share some experiences and knowledge. I will be laying it all out as I actually put it in to practice.

Here’s my story, or atleast a short version for now…..

I am completely new to internet marketing, a newbie, which sounds crazy given that I have been running businesses for quite a few years. I thought I was quite smart….how wrong could I be!

It only really dawned on me just a little over a year ago that I was marketing my business and software applications really ineffectively. Yes I had a website, yes I sent out the occasional email and made tons of telephone calls.

But I had fallen in to the age old trap and was working hard but not smart. That didn’t feel great, given that I had invested a tidy amount of money and slogged my guts out. I had nothing to really show for it.

As I started looking around, reality dawned that I had been missing a huge trick, yet using new technologies very effectively in other areas. But the most important area, in generating revenue, had been totally missed.

I had spent money on my websites, which delivered no benefits or revenue. Our time was taken up running around from meeting to meeting and usually getting favourable comments but no MONEY.

I started looking at what I should be doing…it just hit me like a sledgehammer!

It was so obvious, that I decided I needed to take action. That was just over a year ago!

Where I have got to?

Well probably like so many people I started running around madly trying to gather the information to understand internet marketing better, put all the pieces together and start learning.

Actually, I didn’t even do that….I signed up for a pretty expensive workshop with Andrew Reynolds and Tim Lowe to learn what I needed to know. (More about some of my experiences in another Post)

The plan they layed out for me and other attendees was pretty clear and I got a lovely box full of wonderful DVDs. Hey, there was some great material here & I got all excited.

Again, I fell in to the trap of wanting to know more and cluttering my brain up with more and more information but not doing what I should really have been doing….TAKING ACTION.

Hell, everyone says take action, so it can’t be that difficult CAN IT!!

Probably 80-90% of people never TAKE ACTION, or find a reason to delay.

Well, here’s the good news. Having learnt a lot along the way, cluttered and decluttered my brain. Found some extremely good material that can really help, learnt a whole load of new skills….I am going to cut through the confusion and morass of information and put it all to work.

I am going to share my lessons as we go and I am going to expose exactly what I am doing (and hopefully why) as I do it.

Why would I want to do that?

Because I think sharing this sort of information is extremely helpful to others and will not only benefit me, by getting me to follow through but hopefully encourage others to take the leap and actually DO IT!

Get all the misinformtion and confusion out of your head, focus & get on with it.

There will be three key areas for me:

1. Making a living through internet marketing, so I can enjoy a more stress free lifestyle
2. Using internet marketing more effectively in my businesses so I can drive traffic to my websites & get people knocking on my door & generate substantial revenue
3. The business I am most excited about, teaching people to become highly effective traders, so they can leave their day jobs and make an extremely good living - this is something I DO KNOW ABOUT!

On the last point, I have been putting this together for quite a few months and have assembled a fantastic team to make this happen…more later.

I am very excited by the future but like everyone, need to put this to work - talk is cheap and I have done enough of it (& spent plenty of money).

And yes…internet marketing is extremely important to you. In fact, it is getting more & more important for so many reasons. The opportunity is enormous, grasping it is the problem.
